![]() | My 700wx came with Voice Command 1.5 installed (as usual, Microsoft installs outdated versions). I want to replace it with a trial version of 1.6 but if 1.6 is no better, I don't want to have to pay for it when I don't want it. How would I re-install 1.5 if the trial proves to be fruitless? I have the installation CD that came with the device and just need to know what the process is. Thanks Yukoner |

![]() | 1.5 should be hardwired in your phone so you can't technically remove it (unless you do registry changes etc). As a worst case scenario, you can just do a hard reset and it will bring you back to the original stats (you'll have to do a rebuild on all of your other info, but it's likely all saved on your desktop anyway; I hope). I accidentally screwed up my Voice Command once by screwing around with the registry and had to do the hard reset. All works fine again now. Hope this helps.. |

![]() | Technically yes but only 1.6 would be active. It's sort of like adding Service Package 2 to Windows. The original version is still technically there but the modifications would be the only thing active and available. |

![]() | So, if 1.6 doesn't do the trick, when I uninstall it 1.5 should remain? As an aside, when I downloaded the trial version of 1.6 and began the installation it says it is installing 1.5...so I stopped the installation and have tried to contact the folks at Handango. |

![]() | Yes 1.5 will still be there if 1.6 fails you. You might have to do a Hard Reset to get it back to the way it was but you definitely have a safety. Not sure why 1.5 was being installed from Handango, but they will let you know. |

![]() | Haven't been able to get a reply from them as yet. The reviews on their site indicate that 1.6 still will not allow the bluetooth headset to initiate a call however. I must say, this has been quite a disappointment for me as hands-free calling was a major reason for my decision and am learning that information provided by manufacturers and software providers is not always what it reads. Oh, well, C'est la vie! Thanks for your response shogunmaster...are ya ready for the Olympics? We have the Canada Winter Games here in Whitehorse at the end of February. |

![]() | It's pretty crazy up here. We've already had about five crippling snowstorms this year that have shut down our newly rennovated 'Ski and Die Highway' (Sea to Sky for those not in the know) and also took out our internet for 5 days straight. This is probably going to be another record snow year (last year was 5 times more than any previous record) so we definitely have the snow everyone is looking for; just tough to get up to it. We're getting some cold snaps this week too. Tonight it's supposed to get to -21 celcius (that's about -10 F) which is just a little bit on the 'damn-cold' side for me, but that's living on a mountain for ya... If anyone is trying to use the highway in a snowstorm, I highly recommend hitting 7/11 for food supplies and having a bunch of movies on your Treo SD card. One of my friends' was stuck on the highway for over 8 hours the other week (you can generally make it up from Vancouver in under 1.5 hours) and he was going nuts. My laughing at him didn't placate his frustrations as much as you would assume. ![]() |
