Corporate email lock out?

Good morning. One of my VP's is now getting a message when he tries to send an email through our company server. everything was fine up til this morning. He says the error is something like "Login is locked by exclusive use by <loginname>".
Only on sending, not receiving. And his other personal accounts work fine.
He says he did a soft reset and pulled the battery but nothing has changed. I can't see anything in the corporate network.
Oh, and he's on vacation so I don't have the TREO here.
It almost sounds like he never disconnected.
He's on Verizon.

Any ideas?

Besides telling him to relax and enjoy his vacation and leave the email alone.

I don't know which OS he's running, but I'll assume it's WM because it's corporate.
In any case, it sounds very much to me like a server-side issue that will have to wait until he gets back and can put his Treo, the server, and an IT guy in the same place (even if it's a virtual place) at the same time.
In the mean time, can you temporarily forward his corporate account(s) through a personal one?
