turn off email notification? bug? - Treo Forum

I want to turn off the sound/vibrate for email notification.

Is there a small bug in the email sound notification? In Sound & Alerts in Messaging I have Volume set to Off, I have Vibrate set to Never and I have Message tone set to No Sound. However I still get an audio notification when I get new email (which is usually spam). When I have the switch on the top of the phone set to Vibrate, I get a vibrate notification when I have new email.

Does anybody have a solution for this?

The email notification alert in Versamail is kinda tricky to find. (I'm assuming your using Versamail

) Go to Preferences>Auto Sync and then press the Alerts button. You can then set your preferences for notification to new mail or delivery failures. Hope this helps!

I don't have Versa mail (I use the Mail program that came with the phone with Verizon wireless sync), but I have the same sound problem as above. Any suggestions on where to find the preferences for the Mail sounds?

The Versamail program is shown simply as the Mail icon. Settings should be the same.

I finally found the answer in another post. The setting is in the wireless sync settings under notifications. Doh!
