700p for sprint, can it be freed!! - Treo Forum

So i have a use 700p that i picked up offline, I was told that its a sprint phone

and running on a CDMA network, well I currently have a 4 phone plan with my

roomates with Metro PCS, which is also CDMA, My question is there some way

to Unlock the Treo so that I can get it on Another CDMA network?

Any info would be appreciated, and i would be willing to pay for an unlock.

You would need to get it registered on Metro PCS's network, which only they can do. Have you tried contacting them?

No,
I have been there done that, only GSM phone's can be unlocked. And sprint will only acvitate (spelling) sprint branded phone's. Sorry!

Can a metro pcs employee put the phone into the network, is that something say an employee could do if they had the phone, or is it just impossible?

It's not really whether it's possible or not, as a CDMA phone is a CDMA phone regardless of where it came from, it's more whether they will actually do it. Carriers really, really don't like activating phones they didn't provide. You could sweet talk someone into it I suppose but they may loose their job if someone found out

To save yourself all the grief why not sell the Sprint 700P and pickup a Metro PCS 700P
