![]() | outgoing email won't work Hi, I am new to the Treo (but have had a Palm PDA for years). Even though I don't plan to use it often I figured I'd set up my email from the Treo. I have cox for my email - and I know cox doesn't allow any outgoing email not sent from their network (my treo is with Verizon). Verizon says they have an outgoing server just for this purpose. But for the life of me I can't get it to work. I'm obviously missing something quite basic but I don't know what it is. I've set up the online my account like Verizon requires (I've had that for years as well). It says that the outgoing server would be smtp.vzwmail.net. And my user ID is my cellphone#@vzwmail.net. So here's my stupid question - in versa mail - do I set up a second account for the outgoing email? I can't use this outgoing server on my cox email account can I? I'm guessing I need to set up a second account in versa mail but of course I don't have any incoming email server. If someone send me an email at my cox address how do I reply to the email? Believe it or not I have tried to figure this out on my own - neither the Palm nor the Verizon website provides much guidance and I really don't want to have to go back to the Verizon store if I can avoid it... Thanks for your help - I just discovered the website and there is some great here! |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I did it by going to internet explorer to mytownhere.cox.net and the cox home page comes up, and you can log in as normal, check your mail, etc. hope it works for you. |

So Verizon has an outgoing server that I can use but do I set up a separate account or change the outgoing server on the treo for the account? | |

![]() | Do you do this through Versamail or through the web browser? I'm trying to set this up in Versamail - I can download mail but i can't send any. Very frustrating! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You would leave the username, password and incoming, (POP3), details as you have them currently set for Cox and just enter Verizon's outgoing, (SMTP), server in the relevant section.
