![]() | I have a .mac account and that works just fine - I can use that - but in reality I'm not in a position (and have little interest) to change my email address just to make it work on my Treo. The time it would take to switch everything over - just to get my Treo to work? That to me seems backwards. So I'll check with the Verizon store and if they can't get it to work I'll have to decide if I want to keep it - or at least the data package since its basically useless if I can't send emails. I wouldn't use it for the web anyway |

![]() | I figured out the answer. You have to go into the advanced settings to get it set up properly. I got the answer via google from a guy who spent 2 hours on the phone with tech support to get it set up properly. I'm including the solution below so that hopefully someone else who needs the help can save themselves some time. In the basic setup: user name: you Cox ID password: your cox password incoming server: pop.east.cox.net outgoing server: smtp.vzwmail.net Goto the advanced settings: In the Outgoing Server settings: check "Use authentication (ESMTP) This allows you to enter a new username & password username: yourcellphonenumber @vzwmail.net password: your My Account password Thanks again to everyone who took the time to help!
