![]() | OK, multi-pronged problem. Recently my Treo 700p started looping (attempts to turn-on unsuccessfully over and over). A trip to the Sprint service desk produced a fairly quick, "nothing we can do but a hard reset erasing all data." Prior to this looping issue, my sync stopped working properly. I assumed this was a Vista issue and am currently kicking myself for not aggressively resolving that problem before now. Obviously at this point, I am far overdue in backing up my data. My hope is to revive both the sync software and the device without losing the data currently on the phone. I've searched multiple forums for a previously conceived answer but none seem to touch on all the issues I'm facing with one solution. The only non-standard download is the Google Maps application. I used to use the Treo for email regularly but recently returned to just text, voice, web and memos. Any advice is appreciated. From what I have found, it seems like a "warm boot" is in order. Thanks |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It sounds like you don't have a SD card. First thing I would highly recommend is to get one. You can stop the loops by doing a warm reset and then back everything up to your card. And then do a soft reset and see if that fixed the problem. If not, do a hard reset, and do a selective restore of apps and prefernces. I would recommend doing them in groups of five, so that if you start looping after an individual restore, you can quickly narrow it down to a small group of apps. (See this link for instructions on performing resets: TreoFaq: Treo650Resetting). Another way is to download a trial of SafeGuard (version1.7 from GoTreoSoftware.com - Treonauts still has 1.5 which is a little buggy), which will catch the reset loop on the second time, and quarantine the likely culprit the third time through. It also is good to tell you which app likely caused your crash and to keep your SD card mounted. Once you've got the loop stopped, try another hotsync and then post back and tell us what is specifically occuring to stop it from happening.
