![]() | HELP! Update ROM Image and HotSync! Hi. I'll be honest and say that I only use my Treo 700p for little things like phone calls, texts, going online. It was a gift. I know this was posted a few months ago but the posts didn't help and neither did Sprint, so this is my second to last resort before I go to a Sprint repair store or just buy a new phone. Here's a copy and paste of a past post that is exactly what I'm going through word for word. "I look at the screen and it starts to say that it is trying to connect via HotSync. I was confused as heck and hit cancel and it says that it is canceling the operation then suddenly it starts the HotSync again, and again, and again... so I get frustrated and pull the battery out as the phone was really tripping now. I reinstall the battery and I immediately get this screen asking "Update Rom Image, Yes or No?" so I hit NO and it goes to a screen with red white green and blue squares all across the screen and nothing happens. I reinstall the battery again and it keeps asking if I want to update the rom image again. I finally tried yes as it says "Rom Image Now Found On SD Card" .... So the phone is useless at this point. What went wrong? Assuming I need to go to a Sprint Repair Facility?..." But for me, I did a soft reset. It didn't work. For the poster above, he hard reset his phone and everything went back to normal. After I managed to hard reset my phone, it does that HotSync thing, but not continuously. Like I can press cancel and it'll be another 5 minutes before it resumes trying to connect. But if I take out my battery or try to soft reset, it'll go back to that Update Rom Image screen. Please Help! Because of course the minute I called Sprint and ask them to take off my insurance on my bill, my phone starts messing up! Looking forward to your replies! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome to Treonauts, Newbie. Wish I could help, but I have never heard of this problem and haven't the foggiest how to fix it, except maybe a factory reset/Zero reset(since a hard reset didn't work). Here is a link that explains how to do one: TreoFaq: Resetting your Treo |

![]() | I had this same problem. I was able to get Verizon to send me a replacement (which has its own problem now...). Try calling them and see what they'll do. |
