Not ringing - Treo Forum

My Treo 700p decided not to let me know when Igot phone calls, the caller would hear it ringing and if they didn't wait long enough for the voice mail to kick in would not be able to contact me. If they left a message the voice mail alert would let me know.
In my frustration I called Sprint and was told that I should take the battery out for about 1 minute at least once a day. Is this really how Palm designs things? Anyone else have this issue?

I had a similar problem with my 755p. It evidently was a conflict with some of my third party phone apps. I did a clean install of all of them and the problem went away. I also know that until a very recent version of RingCare came out, that it too was causing this problem. Not sure if you have RingCare, but just in case...just update to latest version.

Could it be a short in the audio output jack? This happens from time to time with Palms and can be fixed by popping the headphones in the output jack and twisting it around and then pulling it out.

IF it is an audio output issue, then you will find that PTunes and other sound oriented apps will not sound , but can be heard via headphones.

Sounds like a possibility Ohappydaye. Another reason why I'll never use the jack on my 750...

Soft resets and Warm resets fixes some of the 'quirks' in Palm's OS. I'd suggest try doing a Soft and/or a Warm reset. More info on that can be found in the KB... (Does this site have a KB? I can't find one..) Well Soft Reset - Take out the Treo's battery for about a minute, pop it back in. Warm Reset - Take out the Treo's battery for about a minute, hold "up" on the 5-way, pop the battery back in, and hold "up" until Phone is finished loading.

Do you have any 3rd party applications installed? Like, Dial by Photo or something that will enhance your phone app? If so, try un-installing it and see if that fixes the issue. Some conflicts have been reported by such software.

I too avoid the jack. Not planning on ever using it.

When I have a problem hearing the phone ring its usually a result on unwittingly pushing the volume control on the side of the 750 all the way doen and not realizing it or forgetting to turn it off of vibrate after I get out of court or choir practice or some meeting where I need it quiet.
