| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Hard reset? Hi all, I just finally consented to upgrade my 600 to the 700 now that Sprint has the palm format and I have a new car with Uconnect. The initial problem: The preprogrammed voicemail link is off by one number and now there are TWO very unhappy customers...myself and the poor fool who kept getting my attempts at retrieving my voicemail until I noticed the problem! Since there does not seem to be a way to edit this, would a hard reset work? If yes...how do you hard reset these puppies? I miss my 600 already! Thanks in advance, S |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Yes, it's your cell number with sprint...but the number I was routing to was some poor guy who was one number off of mine. After staying on hold for 3 hours and 26 minutes the first time (okay...I'm not crazy....after the first 45 minutes, it seemed like a challenge to see just how long it would take. Through the joy of speakerphone, I got two reports completed and my emails cleaned out during that time. It finally cycled through a channel search and I lost the connection.) When I called back, I got right through to a great customer service guy who got this fixed in about 7 minutes. The guy was horrified that I had to wait that long. They had a major sytem crash that effected store level and we figure I got routed to nowheresville. To give Sprint credit, I have never had a problem with them in 5 years, other then coverage Even if the wait had been that long, I still woud have saved at least an hour as the drive to and from the store is a bear, and I already had to go back to get the receipt the guy did not put in the bag for the rebate! The problem was what I has suspected: The guy who entered my numbers at the store level had misentered my number during setup. Customer service guy just had me enter a couple of numbers, up popped the offending entry, I edited and voila! All better! I still like the 600 better, find it more intuitive, but then I'm sure I will get used to the 700. Thanks! S Last edited by stg; 08-24-2006 at 01:57 PM. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Yes, that is exactly what happened to me. The guy from the sprint store entered the wrong area code on my voicemail button and I could not edit it myself. The other problem I had was my speaker phone button mysteriously dissappered one evening. My phone would only work with an ear piece. I could not hear anything by simply putting the phone to my ear and the speaker button was no where to be found. The last thing I did with the phone before this problem occured was watch a video on my phone with my headphones. Now, I thought maybe I inadvertently hit a button since I was still a newbie with the phone but I couldnt find anything. I then tried plugging my head phones in and out of the jack but no luck. I tried a soft reset and that did not work. The next morning after charging the phone the problem was still there. I called the Sprint store and the guy told me he had not heard of such a problem and I could bring the phone back since I was still under my 30 day warranty. When I got to the store and took the phone out to show the guy, the speaker button reappeared and the phone was working fine. The guy looked at me like I didnt know what I was talking about and told me maybe I was just using the phone with the head piece plugged in. I told him I wasnt crazy and that my phone had not worked all night. He then told me "ok its fixed now, so don't worry about it". I asked him what would happen if the problem occured again and my warranty ran out and he said he wouldnt be able to replace the phone. So I asked him to replace the phone beacuse I didnt want to stuck with a bad phone and he replaced it with a new one. Also I now had an additional 30 days of warranty with this new replacment phone. I would definitely recommend getting the insurance with your contract for this phone. It has been about two weeks and no problems! Besides that I do love this phone. ![]() |

| Regular Contributer ![]() | It sounds like the headset jack got stuck in a strange eletrical state. It's happened with both the Treo 600 and Treo 650 in the past. The typical solution is to insert and remove a headset/headphones plug until the problem clears. Unfortunately similar symptoms also showed for the headset jacks that would fail on the Treo 650. This is the first I'm hearing of a problem with the 700p, but it hasn't been out that long yet.
