Treo did hard reset by itself? - Treo Forum

I have a few treos all of which I play with, have had my 700p for some time now. My 700p this morning received 3 separate txt messages that didn't have any body in the txt, nor were the txt from anyone.

I figured maybe it needed to be reset, dunno, never seen that. I did a soft reset. It then booted up to the sync screen for the stylus. It somehow did a hard reset and put everything back to default settings.

Has anyone ever seen this, and why would it happen?

I just read about it happening to a couple other people yesterday in another forum. Very bizarre.

well one of my sayings is computers have a mind of their own and its schizophrenic! Maybe its really true. Or as the guy who used to work on my network said when he came to fix"That's wierd"

So it happened to several users on one specific day?

No, no, no...I read about it the day before that post. I went and re-read the latest postings there and a common theme (although not unanimous) was that several of them had gotten their Treos wet. Several of them were able to get them to work again by blowdrying their batteries and sometimes the phone itself. Very interesting.
