Zero out data on Treo 700p

I moved to a Centro a couple of months ago and now want to sell my 700p on Ebay. However, I know a hard reset won't completely wipe all data from the 700p (or at least that is what I thought). Does anyone know how to zero-out data on the 700p? I tried calling Sprint but because the phone was already deactivated, they couldn't give me the code I needed to wipe it clean. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The only way I know is to do a factory reset and I believe Sprint has to supply the code for you to do so. Perhaps one of the mods knows of another way.

Maybe it worked?

Thanks for the tip. I followed the instructions, but my phone never got to the palm powered screen. While I was holding down the power button, "access powered" was the only thing that came up. I went ahead and peformed the rest of the steps and got a white screen with black type saying "reformatting" in several languages. The screen did go blank, but only for a second or so and then did the normal power up procedure. Any ideas on whether I was successful or not?

Newer Treo's have the Access powered screen instead of the Palm powered one, it's the same thing

If you followed the rest of the instructions and they all responded correctly then that should be it

Cool!

Excellent. That was by far the easiest resolution to this issue I have tried. I really appreciate the info!
