755p IM Application on My 700p - Treo Forum

My cousin just got a new 755p to compete with my 700p and i saw something that i need on my phone. Its the IM Application that includes support for the AIM, MSN and YAHOO messengers. How do i get this application onto my phone. I was able to transfer via bluetooth the file that was downloaded by the phone to install this app on the 755p. But when i try to load it on my 700p it wont show up. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP....

That program runs off of SMS, not data. There are much nicer programs out there for IM if you really want some good functionality.

If you want the IM app from the 755 to work you need to get the files "IM" as well as "StubIM" onto your 700p. I have it working but I don't really care for this app. That's for you to decide, however.

You can use FileZ to get those files over to the miniSD and then transfer them to an SD card to pull them onto your 700p. That's the longest method but with both Palms (with proper cards) and a computer to copy them it's no big deal.

or you could do a search on our forums to find a good im app. IM+ and mundu come to mind. find out what folks say about them, try them out and see which you like best.

Treonauts | Palm Treo Software For Treo 650, 680, 700p, 700w and 750 Smartphone

Here is the link for the IM software. I use IM+ They just came out with a new look. I have heard great things about Mundo on the forum. I know that IM+ has a 7 day trial. Mundu may have a 7 day trial but don't know for sure.

The IM that comes with the 755 is based on your sms like forgot mentioned. So everytime you send an IM message it counts against your text count. ON the other hand, the programs I mentioned above use your data connection and allows you to IM without it costing you a text.

Just make sure you have an unlimited data plan.

Same here. Went to the Sprint store today and played with a 755p and have been brian storming on how to get some of those Apps on my 700p too.
