![]() | clarification needed 700 p update 1.10 for sprint Has anyone done the 1.10 sprint update using the expansion card Did it make an appreciable difference? From the palm site it looks like you need a blank sd card and a card reader to do this update. Is this true when using windows xp pro and the hotsync cable? I have never heard of an update where you must use an Sd card. Sprint tech support did not even know there was an update. Palm tech support seems really confused as to why you need an sd card. the guys said something cryptic about solving problems and copying a folder. After a 20 minute hold the palm tech came back on the line and said that the reason for the sd card is because they have had a lot of usb issues. He explained the procedure to me as follows. Format an sd card. hotsync your phone to back everything up hard reset your phone download the update zip file to your desktop extract the files copy the palm folder to your sd card using a card reader make sure your phone is hooked to the hotsync cable and power. pop the sd card into the phone and power up. the phone will recognize the card and ask if you want to proceed with the update say yes 1/2 hour later you need to set your custom hotsync options to desktop over ride phone and hotsync to bring back all your data. Does this sound right to you experienced folk? Has anyone done this yet? and if so did it make an appreciable differnence? |

![]() | I installed the update yesterday. Took forever (~40 min.). Went just as the instructions stated. The Versamail seems to work better. I have not noticed any difference in the phone useage. I am having a little trouble with the touchscreen. Seems like it is particular about exactly where I touch the screen. I need to figure out how to reset the stylus sensitivity without a hard reset. |

| Junior Member ![]() | I did the update and highly recommend it. I did it from an sd card as Palm recommended to you. I had no problems. Follow the directions exactly.

![]() | By all means do the Update. What I difference it has made for me. My BT works pefectly now. I did mine the first day the update came out. I use a Mac so I had to use a SD card but it worked fine. No problems at all. It did take about 30-40 min. but I work slow. Do follow the directions exactly as already mentioned.COBAUM have you gone under Preferences to redo your touchscreen. I would not think that you would have to do a Hard Reset to correct that problem. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I did it from the card as well. The card should be blank, download the folder to the card. When you insert the card the install should start. The only difference I did was that I backed my phone up and then did a hard reset. The install took about 25 minutes. After install, I restored my backup and all has worked well. |

I did the sprint/700p update two days ago via palm's website. No SD card needed if on W XP. did it thru the usb port/hot sync cardle. took about 45-50 minutes (be patient.) All went well. Still deciding if it was worth it. As someone else mentioned the touchscreen seems a little difficult. a soft reset helped. | |
