Convert Sprint 700p to Verizon 700p? - Treo Forum

Is it possible to convert a Sprint 700p to be compatible with Verizon's service? I recently got a Sprint 700p from a buddy, but I'm a Verizon customer. I called Verizon support yesterday and they shot me down, but I'm not totally convinced of that. Since Sprint also uses CDMA, I don't see why I can't just flash the device firmware with Verizon's image. Speaking of, anyone have a link to download this image? I know 1.1 is a debated subject at this point, so a link to 1.0 would be fine for now.

They are both cdma but the rom build is different fore each carrier and you would probably need to do a rom hack and it it does not work you got yourseldf a relatively shiny paperweight/doorstop

Just flashing the firmware will not make it useable on Verizon's network, it needs to be registered with them too. This isn't something they like to do on phones not supplied by them.

Can anyone tell me what ARE the differences between Sprint and Verizon ROM? I am on Telus rom and has converted it into Sprint MR ROM. As long as you don't use the Sprint/Verizon programs the phone is fine.

As to Activating Sprint ESN on Verizon network that depend on carrier, if they don't let you do it just change the ESN.
