700p No Caller ID - Treo Forum

New 700p. None of my existing contacts "register" in caller ID. No matter who calls, it always indicates "No Caller ID"

Checked the posts, but unable to find solution to this. I'm not roaming, and I don't have any ring tone apps on it. I have all contacts entered in the following format for phone #s:

xxx-xxx-xxxx (no spaces, etc.)

Thanks in advance for any solutions you can provide. Very frustrating, (but love my 700p... especially after 2 hellish months on the wx, ugh).

How do the numbers display when you recieve a call?

Does taking the dashes out make a difference?

I have dashes in the numbers on my 700p, and it doesn't cause any problems. How many contacts do you have? Are you using the built-in application for your Contacts?

There are 378 Contacts in my treo

Setup and using the conduit sync with Microsoft Outlook (not w/Palm Desktop) for contacts, notes, and calendar

How do phone numbers display? Here goes:
> I enter into Outlook as xxx-xxx-xxxx

> Outlook converts to (xxx) xxx-xxxx
(yes, that's a space after the 2nd paren)

> on the palm itself, going into Contacts, displays as 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx

> Shows up when a call comes in: "No Caller ID"
* no phone number is displayed

Thanks again for the help. I'm hoping this isn't a problem w/using Outlook instead of Palm Desktop... but let me know if anyone has any reliable indications that that's it. (Read: don't want to uninstall/convert if we aren't pretty sure).

What I do is enter the number as so 123-456-7890 on my TREO. I have my hotsync to override the desktop. So, what ever goes into my TREO is the "master" Haven't had the "no caller id issue".

Thanks - anyone else have ANY idea? I don't think I want to enter all these numbers by hand into the device manually.

Hi I just exchanged yesterday my Treo 700P for a new (refurbished) one and the CALLER ID is not functioning on mine either, all my number would show up on my old one with out ever having this issue show up!, if any one has an idea how to resolve this it would be much appreciated!

Do any of you happen to have Ringo Pro installed? After installing Ringo Pro on my 755p I had the same problem and contacted Electric Pocket support.

They seem to have solved the "Unknown Caller" problem with a patch that installs over the program on your Treo (they advised not to delete existing app). So far it's working great - my contacts are finally showing up on Caller ID and a couple of other minor Ringo operational issues were fixed too.

Its RINGO guys uninstall ringo move it to your memory card first.
Uninstall it then reboot the phone then reninstall it
