Better mp3 player

I'm looking for a better mp3 player. The last smartphone I had with the pre-loaded player was the kyocera7135. I really like the sound it had. I could change the bass and treble levels to improve sound. I'm currently using the kyocera stereo head set with my 700p, but it doesn't even sound like it is stereo. Do I need the stereo adapter w/ different ear buds? Is ptunes an improvement from the realplayer that came on the 650? Any help would be appreciated.

If you have ptunes, go into preferences and try to "tweak the settings". I was able to make it sound a little better.

With most you do when used with the Treo, this adaptor isn't pretty but should do the job

The PTunes (free) upgrade to v 3.1.8 allows you to change "Skins". One of them, I believe it was WM11, has an entire graphic equilizer built in to the skin, which allows you to tailor the sound to taste! Very cool.

Is there a recommended set of ear buds that will sound good in stereo, or will I need this adapter with all sets?

TIA

Most headphones use a 3.5mm plug whereas the Treo has a 2.5mm connector so for those an adaptor would definitely be needed. That particular adaptor sorts out the impendance problem you get with some headphone and a standard 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor.
