![]() | TOMTOM Nav 6 2GB SD Card Hi I am trying to copy or install the TOMTOM Nav 6 software in a 2 GB SD Card so that I have space for photos etc on the SD Card. I am having a lot of troubles. Sometimes the process stops and freezes... Any special trick to do this. I am a Mac user. Thanks! |

I have a 700p and use Windows XP, however I had the same issues you have. I tried to install TT 6 on a 2 gb card and was having major problems with TT6 (loaded on my Treo 700p.) E.G. it took 20 minutes to for TT to calculate a 10 mile trip. And them it functioned very slowly. After messing around with it I called TT support and they immediately told me what the problem is. TT Nav 6 WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY ON A 2 GB sd card. (note that all TT maps come on a 1 gb card.) They told me that I must install the maps on a 1 gb sd card. I did that and the program works flawlessly and is very fast. I installed the entire USA and Canada on one 1gb card and a couple of regional maps on another 1 gb card. Program works like a champ. Please note that the new maps are installed thru TT Home software. Free app. Hope that helps. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The size of the card shouldn't make a difference but the format will, is the 2GB card formatted as FAT32?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Not sure you'll be able to tell on the Treo but you can find out by sticking the card into a card reader on a PC. You can also format the card either FAT (FAT16), or FAT32 on the PC. I'm guessing that TomTom doesn't like FAT32.

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I am also having trouble with the tomtom 6 - I can't even get the program to start never mind getting to the maps!! I have a 650 and I have updated to the most recent palm software. Here are my questions: what did you guys do first to get the navigator program on your treo? I have both a memory card that says "tomtom navigator 6" and a DVD. I assume they are both applications by the look of them but when I put the memory card in my palm all it does is go into a reset and never lauches the program. I have the program on my computer but when I tried to drag it into the quick install it won't take any of the data files only the prc files. please help someone - I just want to get this thing running!! thank you in advance for anyone who can take the time to help me. frustrated!! |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Talker. I took your suggestion and checked to see if my 2 gb sd card/s was formatted FAT 32. It was/is. Perhaps there are other issues that prevent TT6 from working properly on a 2 gb card (on my 700p). As long as everything is working fine for me on a 1 gb card, I'm going to leave it alone. I have seperate cards for pics etc. Thanks for your comments. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I reckon formatting it FAT16 would cure the problem but as you say it works fine on the 1Gb card so maybe best to leave it alone ![]() @Travellingmom, did you try my suggestion in the other thread?
