![]() | I believe I saw this on a forum somewhere but can not remember where. I am using a 700p with etymotic er6i headsets, connected to my Treo with a Seidio 2.5-3.5mm adapter. Sound is outstanding except of course for the skipping which we know about already. My problem is in the headphone jack itself. If I put any forward pressure (pressure from the back toward the front of the Treo) on the adapter, the music cuts out. Not completely cut out but gets faint, very hard to hear. When pressure is released sound goes back to normal. I know it is not the adapter as I have tried the Palm adapter and get the same results. I have also tried with the supplied headsets from Palm. It feels like the jack itself is loose inside the Treo. Has anyone else experienced this problem? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Palm has had this problem with many of their Treo's, and it spans models. Sometimes it has to do with a loose connector, others its from soulder coming loose. Like comiken205 said, take it to your provider and have them take a look at it.

![]() | Thanks. I went to Sprint today and they checked out the jack. It is bad. They say it might be the adapter I am using. It might be slightly larger than the hole and is causing the connector inside to not retract when I remove the adapter. There are apparently 2 small wires that contact the plug when inserted in the phone. If the plug is too large it causes those wires to stay spread apart and eventually you have a bad connection. I am using the Seidio 2.5-3.5mm adapter. Sprint ordered me a new phone. Should have it by the weekend. I am going back to the Palm 2.5-3.5mm adapter with the new phone and see what happens. I wish Palm would just go to a 3.5mm headset jack. |
