Help! Verizon Wireless Sync Reset Problem

Hey guys, I've tried to search through these forums for an answer or previous occurrence of this problem, but I haven't been able to find an index case, so here goes:

Randomly one day my VZ Treo 700p decides that it doesn't want to use wireless sync anymore and i can't retrieve any emails. Each time I press "sync" on either the email program or the wireless sync app, my treo does a reset!

Not sure what to do with this. I've tried soft reset a few times without working. Blazer and phone works fine...Any help would be much appreciated. (would like to avoid a hard reset). Thanks guys....

Go to your phone app, type in #*#377 and press dial.

Come back and tell us what it says.

I was hoping it would have been a simple application that needed fixing.

Mine was experiencing the same problems as yours, but my error was with Documents to go. I upgraded it (for free), and it the problem went away.

Have you installed any 3rd party apps?

Like pool shark said, first suspect would be any new 3rd party applications. If you haven't installed any new applications, you could also try backing up your Treo and do a reset, then resync your info from "Wireless Sync".

hey guys, thanks for the advice. yeah, i ended up doing a hard reset and the sync is back in business. a pain, but it worked. having just pony-ed up for missingsync really helped actually...thanks again.

I am having the same issue. When I do the #*#377 I get the following message;
A crash occured on 3/15/07 at 10:55 am while running "Wireless Sync":
Emul68KMain.c, Line:456, line: 1111 exception at address 732CDC22

I recently went to Documents to Go website via the phone and tried to update Documents To Go. I have since did a reload on that latest version of that program via my Mac.
I really hope I can get this fixed without having to do a hard reset and reinstall everything.

If you have a good backup, reinstalling your info is as simple as syncing. It just takes a little time to get all the info back onto your device.

A Good Backup?

What is an easy way to back up data? I know I can hotsync contacts, calendar to my computer. What else do I need to do?

If your Hotsync program is working correctly, and your not getting any errors, a standard sync will suffice. If your having some issues with your hotsync you could try a different backup program, which can back your Treo up to an SD card. I personally use backupbuddy.net, which I have set to do over the air backups.
