Phone App question

i am thinking about getting the treo 700p from sprint sero, but have a question or 2 before pulling the trigger.

1. i know that palm doesnt multitask - but is using the phone considered a task, basically asking if you can open a notepad or calander or play bejeweled while on the phone?

2. is it possible to get the 680 phone app onto a 700p, i havent had a palm since the m505 and the 680 app looks like it might be better (any advice on this would be appreciated)

This is Kevin from Palm, Inc. Regarding your first question, you can use the included headset or speakerphone feature to talk and listen hands-free. You can also access your calendar, documents, and other applications while you talk. This is from the Treo 700p Phone Details page. The main Details page can be seen here.

Sorry, as far as I know, there is no way to have the Treo 680 phone app on the Treo 700p.

so to clarify, i can use the treo 700 as i would my m505 (usually one app only running at once) in addition to being able to use all the phone apps at the same time?

Not sure I follow, sorry. I'm not with Technical Support or really familiar with older Palm devices. The Palm OS does not support true multi-tasking, of course. In general, when you move from one application to another, the first one closes out. I don't know that using the phone part of the device qualifies as a "task", per se. But to answer your question from the original post, you can talk on the phone and check your calendar or play a game at the same time.
