700p crashing, won't wake up, now going dark

So, I got this 700p from Verizon on Tuesday last week. I've had it just over a week, and I've had constant problems with it.

It started only an hour after I first booted it up -- one of the first times I let it go to sleep, it wouldn't come back. The green LED kept blinking, and the red button just didn't do anything. I figured I'd done something wrong -- soft-reset it and kept going.

I've taken off all the 3rd party software (hard reset, started from scratch), and for a while I thought it was just crashing when I was leaving on BroadbandAccess (the arrows were gray, but it was still 'connected') and letting it go to sleep...that's when it wouldn't wake up. But now it's having trouble waking up at all, whether it's connected to BBA or not. And yesterday and today, the screen has twice just started to slowly go gray/black (grainy lines grow and expland --looks like a Palm does when the screen is busted) and freezes like that until I soft-reset.

I think it's pretty clear by now that I have a lemon, but I just wanted to go on record that there's another one, and see if anyone has had similar problems. I'm taking it back to the store, going to try a new one ... the problem is that if they're so consistently crappy, I'm going to want a refund and to try a different phone. Dunno if they'll do that ... additionally though, this is the only model of smartphone I know of that syncs with a Mac and can get my personal email, etc.

I'm a long-time Palm user, btw... had a PalmPilot in 98, various other models over the years. I haven't used one consistently in a few years, but I've been wanting a Palm phone for a long time -- finally thought the 700p would be the one for me.

I'd take it back from where you bought it, they should give you a replacement.
