| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Reboot Loop Even After Hard Reset My 700p is locked in a continuous reboot loop. I've tried a soft reset, warm reset, and hard reset. The soft and warm resets have no effect. The hard reset looks like it's going to work, but when I press the UP button to erase all data the reboot loop starts again. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. |

| Junior Member ![]() | reset loops I had some trouble with corrupted data when I first got my 700p. I thought it was in an eternal loop but the loop straightened itself out after a long time. Try a hard reset. Then let it loop -- take a break get some coffee or something -- and check. Mine took about 10 mintues after a bad crash and reset. |

![]() | I had exactly the same problem with a Verizon-based unit. Several hard resets did nothing to fix the problem, so after several hours of continuous resetting, I took the unit and replaced it after a bit of hassle with Verizon. |

| I made my first post! ![]() | my treo 700p had gotten stuck in the reboot loop as well. no matter how many times i removed the battery, soft or warm rebooted, nothing changed.. here is what i did that worked for me: I did a warm reboot, and removed the programs that i had installed through hotsync right before the loop started. I then soft rebooted it but the loop started up again Finally i backed up my files and did a hard reboot. This seemed to break the loop cycle, but now a new problem!!! Everytime i try and hotsync it with my computer, my palm just reboots and no files are exchanged Any advice about this new problem? |

| I made my first post! ![]() | Verizon replaced it Mine was in a reboot loop as well. Verizon 700p, rebooted to "Access Powered" splash screen, hung there for 10 seconds, screen goes black, then boots back to "Access Powered". lather, rinse, repeat. I left mine on all day on Saturday, left the house, came back hours later and it was still looping. Did hard reset 20 times, still loops. Did hard reset and said "yes" to erase data. Then tried saying "no", still loops. Tried with power cord in and no battery, then with battery and no cord. I Finally called Verizon Wireless at 800-922-0204 first thing Monday morning, and they are sending me a new phone. Didn't give me a hassle. |

I had the same issue when trying to hotsync notepad. So, I removed it from my backup folder and everything worked, but I had to go through the steps above.

![]() | Here's my problem with the endless re-boot: My 700p kept looping on the Access Powered screen. Hard boot, soft boot, factory reset boot all did not work. So VERIZON sent me a replacement. But they want the old hardware back. When I reach the screen that asks to confirm "Erase All Data" and reply with YES, the 700p goes back into the loop. How can I be assured that my data is truly erased before I send it back to VERIZON. I have sensitive information on my Palm that I need to be certain is gone before I let them have the handset back. Short of dropping it in a pot of boiling water (they'll bust me for that-there's a moisture indicator in the battery compartment), how can I guarantee my data is totally erased?? Any help would be genuinely appreciated. DeMan |

Looks like we can't get a new replacement - none to be found anywhere in the Nation, only a refurbished 700p OR buy a new 755 for over $200+ with rebate... irritating. So I sat there and hard reset over and over (variations of holding down power and in and out with the paperclip) until I got a spanish/english screen asking to erase my data... yeah. a g'jillion hard syncs later and finally it worked... resync'd with outlook and it is working now... but for how long? This is our second or third phone in about 4 months. <sigh> Should be thankful it is working, I suppose. Thanks for reading this far... my point is that it is no longer easy to just go get a new phone.... and eventually the hard reset worked for me.
