Question Going from a 650 to 700p + Questions

Hola all,

I just ordered my treo 700p on ebay, and got a good deal on it, but before it arives, I have a few questions that you all can hopefully answer...

I have a Sprint 650 now, and to transfer all of my data over to the 700 from my pc do I need to just change all the hot snyc settings? I dont know if I need it, but I also have the chapura settings in Outlook from my 650. Do I need those too? O, and I have pictures in my Oulook Contacts, will those go over to my 700 after a sync?

Secondly, After I get Sprint to get my 700p up and running I want to sell my 650 (probably on ebay) but how do I make sure the ESN (what is that by the way???) is clear and everything else is good on it to sell???

Some help PLEASE guys...

Thanks in advance,
B

Not sure about chapura but the hot sync stuff should work fine using the same profile but with the new phone.

As for getting the phone on your account...I'm in the same boat having 'won' a 700p on ebay and needing to put that on my Sprint account.

Sprint said the procedure is as follows:

Go to a sprint store with both phones and your account details (I'm not sure if you can call and do it over the phone). They'll read off the ESN, it's on a sticker inside the phone and put the new ESN on your account - they charge a 'phone activation fee' by the way which is ludicrous as it essentially says "oh, you want to stay with us, ok, that'll be $36 please". Go figure.

Providing your contract is in good standing you'll be free to do whatever you like with your old phone.

ESN problems occur with stolen phones or phones whose's owners still have a contract in place and haven't paid the early exit fee. This is because, as I'm sure everyone knows, the phones are heavily subsidised at retail.

Hope this helps...

Steph,

That helps a lot. I actually took an hour or so last night and played with my 650 and all the settings, and I think I figured it all out. Thanks for the reply...I was starting to think no one had any ideas about my questions...but you've restored my faith in the forums.
