*I just realized that the title is misleading... I meant to say SD card. Sorry*
We still can't get her 3G SIM card to work in the phone... so maybe it is a software issue? I have tried the steps for a hard reset, but can not get the "Erase all data?" prompt. Instead the second Palm logo appears and the phone freezes there.
My gf is supposedly talking with a tech today, and maybe they can get another SIM card to work. When I get the device back I will try the phone info hash code.
Thanks for all the advice!

Its possible that it may not even be a SIM card issue, but rather a software conflict or corrupt database. I would try a warm reset first (with the SIM card in the device) to see if that stops the reset loop (see Reset Help link below in my signature).

I still don't have the device in my hand, but as soon as I do, I will try the warm reset as well.

Unless I am missing something, this is normal.

Yes, you are right. Just trying to submit as much info as possible... those four buttons are functioning, just not all of the time. And everything, even the side buttons, works just fine for a couple of minutes when an SD card is inserted.

I've figured out why only certain buttons work at certain times!

We asked the seller if he had ever had problems with the buttons not working. He said that "sometimes the side button would get stuck in, but the rest must have broken in shipping"... this made us mad, obviously.
So, I started playing around with the lone side button, and it was indeed stuck in! When I pulled it out a bit with a sharp razor blade, all of the buttons began to work! So I'm pretty sure that is the problem... I will go into the device when I find a #5 torx and see if I can make a permanent repair... Thanks so much to all for your thoughts!

I don't want to push it, but... any idea on why the SIM won't work? Maybe because it's a 3G SIM card? This problem seems minor compared to what I was just going through!

Thanks again!!!!!!

The SIM being 3G shouldn't matter, but have the carrier give you a new SIM just incase.
