 | Does Palm Treo 680 need a SIM card ? I always thought you need a SIM card for Palm treo 680 phone and I thought my phone already had it. Just today I got a message "Check SIM Card" and I opened up the back I could not find SIM card even though I could see the slot for this. But surprisingly I am able to send and receive calls ? I called up Cingular customer service. They are saying if I am able to talk to them using the phone I should have the SIM card. Whats happening ? Is SIM card hidden somewhere ? Did somebody steal my SIM card or I never had one. |

| Under the battery on the back of the phone it has a little picture of a SIM card, just above that picture is a little drawer or slide that pulls out... that is where your SIM card goes. If you bought the phone from the store it is possible they put the SIM in for you and you just never realized it. As the phone is a GSM phone it will not work without the SIM card except to make emergency calls. In this picture, the SIM drawer is pulled down exposing the SIM... normally the drawer is pushed up (basically under the speaker) to hide it and allow space for the battery.

| cybrainx, welcome to treonauts.  You did NOT look dumb. When you get a new device like you did, there are so many new and confusing things to manage, it is easy to get a little lost. Besides, it gave Irish a chance to show-off his photographic prowess, which is actually quite amazing. |
