Please help, my 680 sucks (battery power)!

HELP! I can't even get one full days use out of my new 680. I did the battery reset thing and I checked the Palm update as to the battery patch, it doesn't need that.
So why is my battery dying after less than one days use? I don't overly use the phone, just average daily use.
I see the larger mAh batteries on ebay but I don't want to replace the "door" on the phone and I don't want the phone to be any larger than it already is.
Any suggestions? This is so frustrating... Please help. Thanks.

I know the battery life on my treo was really bad after only having it for six months. I actually purchased a new battery and it helped on the life of the phone during the day. I actually did order an extended battery and door as well as a back up regular battery on ebay and was very happy with both. I use the extended battery and it has about 50% at the end of the day where the original battery had about 30% by the end of the day or less with light use.

The one change I did with the new battery was to let it run out and then charge it fully. I guess these new batteries have some type of memory and when you charge them the first time it remembers the charge. I did not realize when I first got my phone. I opened it up, installed the new software and started playing with it before reading anything on it.

The 680's battery can be frustrating but by conditioning the battery as described in the 680 forum, in a week or so, you'll see dramatic improvement. In the interim, make these adjustments to see immediate improvement. 1) Set the Date &Time to Manual, the Auto set is constantly checking the network for the time = eats battery. 2) Turn Off Bluetooth when not needed, like overnight. 3) Unless you're on call at night, Turn off the Phone and charge it overnight.

I highly recommend a Power Utility app - I prefer Power Man which lets me set Profiles for different environments, Meetings, Movies, Gym..., and turns on/off various features and hours of the day/night without me have to remember to activate a feature.

Bottom Line: the 680 is great phone, yes the battery has issues, but if you draw it totally down and recharge it fully overnight, it'll improve with each recharge. I'm still on my OEM battery, play MP3s, email and calls all day and still have 50% at 6pm. Be patient.

Power Hero works well for me. Also, I got an extended life battery on ebay for around $40 (comes with a larger battery door)...

At the end of the night, even after power using, I'm usually down to no less than 79 percent.
