I had an AT&T branded Treo 680..which bit the dust (long story) but was still under warranty.

I received a replacement 680--what a difference from the first!! Outside of having Instant Messenger already loaded, the battery life (with the same battery) appears to have at least doubled. Even with Power Hero, the most I could coax out of my old 680 was a day and a half on an extended battery... Now, I have at least 2 days, 3 if I'm not totally power using. I notice that once the screen is turned off, it STAYS off unless a call or a text comes in.

I don't know what they did, but they seem to have done it right!

It is strange - I also had my 680 replaced and the battery in the new 680 lasts much, much longer even with Bluetooth on all the time. I purchased a spare battery through Treonauts Store when I recenbtly visited the US and have to say that the charge on this replacement battery is poor.

Is it an OEM battery that you purchased or a 3rd party?

It's an after-market extended battery that I got on Ebay...

I used the same exact battery that I used in my last Treo, but now this same battery lasts much longer in my new 680 than in my previous one.
