![]() | Speaker problem I have had me Treo 680 replaced as the speaker 'died' on it and would only work through Bluetooth, even after undertaking a hard reset. Before I set up my replaced Treo has anyone had similar problems? I have a Bluetooth system in my car as well as installing Audio Gateway for a Plantronics Voyager 855. By having these Bluetooth devices has anyone similarly lost the Treo's speaker function? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hiya Cristan. I've lost speaker sound through a couple of ways: 1) the infamous Palm audio jack that is not soldered very well. I use a wired headset and that sometimes jostles the jack and the soldering and it comes loose leaving the Palm device thinking the wired jack is still in use even though you've removed the headset from the jack. Sometimes even a hard reset won't fix this problem, but putting the male jack back into the receptacle and then crisply removing it generally has fixed the problem for me. 2) Ringtone managers. Sometimes ringtone managers disable sound making it difficult for people to both hear you and you to hear them or even that the phone rang. This has generally been fixed by most of the standard ringtone manager's latest updates, but there are still some 3) third party software conflicts with Ringtone Managers (or otherwise) that can cause the speaker to go quiet. Generally though, a hard reset or even a soft reset fixes the last two problems (at least temporarily). Not sure any of these applied to your situation. You may have just had a bad speaker. |

![]() | Thanks I am steering clear of using the jack as I purchased the Platronics Voyager 855 in the US a few weeks ago and have uninstalled Ringcare to be on the safe side. |
