![]() | Transferring data from old Treo 680 to new Treo 680 My old Treo 680 went to pot, so I got a replacement Treo 680... When I tried re-synching the backed-up old Treo info to the new treo, it gets hung up on the pics an video portion of the sync, but never gets to my contacts nor memos. What I want to do is to perform a hard reset, transfer my contact and memo data to the new Treo 680, and then manually re-install the remainder of the programs. Thing is, I can't get it to just sync the contacts and the memos. I thought about another hard reset, and then starting a different profile, but is there any way to transfer contacts/ memos from an existing Palm Desktop profile to a new profile? (I'd hate to have to re-enter all my 250+ contacts). Thanks in advance for any assistance you can render in this matter. -Leo- Last edited by Psycmeistr; 06-03-2008 at 03:52 PM. Reason: typo |

![]() ![]() | Since you've got the existing contact, memos etc. in Palm Desktop, export them to a data file, .cvs, .tab. That way you've got a backup that's import-able to a new HotSync ID in the Palm Desktop. Then try setting the existing profile to have Media, SplashPhoto, and any other Pics, or MP3 apps, to Do Nothing in the HotSync Manager. Then see if you can get a complete HotSync. If so, then load your Pics, MP3 etc. on to your SD card manually with a card reader or CPU slot. If they're already on the SD, remove the SD 'til you've got a error free Sync. If you've still can't get the existing HotSync ID to sync, then setup a new one, sync then import your contacts, etc. and sync again.

![]() | Thanks very much-- I'm a bit on the shaky side when it comes to converting files, etc., but I'll muddle through... at least you gave me a starting point and a direction to go. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | What I did is just selected the Pics and Media to do nothing. Everything synced perfect after that. If I wanted the pictures I used a card reader to upload them to my card. |
