Treo 680 - Solid red led (I Need help)

hi all, I have a treo 680. It has a solid red light. I have tried all resets and cannot get this phone too come back on. I Believe it may be a bad battery or some how a bad screen, however It is not cracked or shows cracking. Can anyone help me???

When performing a Soft Reset, hold the five way navigator button up. That will initiate a warm reset, sort of like a safe bootup on a pc (F8). Look around your phone and see if any programs look funky. Then try another soft reset and if that doesn't work, due a hard reset.

Ok, i just tried this and im getting nothing. Im lead to belive it is a hardware issue. Im thinking bad lcd or bad battery. But i dont wanna spend XXX amount of money if this is not the problem. I had my friend who works for cingular check the phone for water damage and he told me the phone is fine, and he thinks it just needs a new screen.

What makes you think it's the screen? Did you buy the Treo new? Has it taken any falls? I don't want you to spend money on something that it (IMO) almost definitely isn't.

I got the phone for dirt cheap. It is used but doesnt have one scratch or dent on it at all. I only paid 25 bucks for it! But anyways, my buddy works at at&t he looked at the phone for water damage and he said it was fine. But he said it needs a new screen. The phone doesnt react to naything i do to it. So im guessing bad battery or bad screen

Do a hard reset first. If that doesn't help, get a new battery. Screen should be done last.

When I had my treo 600 I went into the hospital for 47 days 24 on a ventilator my treo was at home and the charger was at the office and the batery went completely dead When I got out of the hospital I went to the office got my cradle and it sat oin the charger about twenty minutes before it started charging I di not think it was ever going to come back to life when it did I was so happy. I know where you are coming from. It may be a new screen is needed or it may need more drastic help. You might try taking it to a tech and see if they can figure out what's needed.
