![]() | hi fellow Palm users, I need some help, I have had my Palm T|X for quite some time now, and just loved the TCPMP on it, playing divx files and whatnot. I recently migrated to Treo 680, as someone gave it to me for free. For various reasons I have stayed away from treos for quite some time now. (I think you all know why). Anyways, I put in one of my usual podcast to the SD card and pop it in the treo 680, and the video was playing maybe a few seconds at a time, it's basically un-watchable. I don't understand how come a device like T|X which was quite a couple of years older than Treo 680 could be handling these things much much better? Is Palm actually going dare I say backwards?! Has anyone else had this problem? Can you give me some tips as to what I could do to tweak things? I am using TCPMP 0.72 RC1 (the latest version as far as I know). And I simply reused the same prc files from my T|X. cheers, zonman |

![]() | i have tried to reinstall TCPMP again on the treo. And also I have confirmed the installed binary is identical between the one running on my T|X and Treo. I calculated the checksum on the two files to confirm that. The encoded video is downloaded from iTunes, MPEG4, H.264 codec, Profile: Low Complexity. Has anyone else tried files of this nature (I imagine they are quite common...) |

![]() | okey I tried one of my divx movies, and it played fine on my treo, thank god... and I just confirmed again that the same podcast files previously played perfectly fine on my T|X. I used fileZ to compare the spec between the two devices, it seemed that my T|X had more memory and also a slightly faster CPU compared to the Treo 680... Perhaps the treo could not handle the bitrate for a MPEG4 with H.264 codec thanks for everyone's suggestions. |
