Keypad flashes during a call .

On my 680 , every time I make a call my keypad flashes . This happens exactly after, I either hold the send button to call someone from my recently called list or during a call . The keypad flash occurs also during the time that I browse the web . Is there a way to fix that issue ? The only third party app on that phone is google maps .

Do you have any LED control apps on your device (e.g. Butler, Powerman, etc.)?

Thank you for the welcome ,Treotosh.
None , the phone has been hard reset . So there are no aftermarket software or any of the palm software upgrades installed on the phone .

Stuart , The device is bone stock .

You say it still does it even after a hard reset? Then you have a decision to make. Either take it in to be serviced (which may or may not cost you), or put up with the flashing LED. Butler has a function to turn off the LED when it gets stuck on on, but I don't know whether that will help you on a call.

Yes , that is correct . Perhaps it is an issue with the rom, since it is unlocked/unbranded . I'll give butler a try , just for the hell of it . Since I'm stuck in NYC currently , do you have any idea where can I get it serviced ?

Thanks , for the help .

Stuart , It's the qwerty keypad that is flashing and not the led . And ,no the butler did not do anything .

Ahhh, mine does the same thing...the keyboard lights will all of sudden come on during a phone call. If you hit the side button, it will turn it off for a time, before it comes on again. I just put up with it. There are some third party apps for keyboard lights, but I obviously haven't found a good fix myself.

I can't , it gets on my nerves when the the keypad flashes when I'm in a middle of an email . I called Palm and they will be sending me a new unit as an exchange for this one . With our BES acting up and my blackberry having a fit while working outside of US. Thank you AT&T !!! I rely way too much on the Treo. Funny thing is , this one is a replacement for a lost one . And that lost one never had those bugs when it came to the keypad lighting .

But still, thank you for the help Stuart .

cartogary will become famous soon enough
Just as an aside, if you still interested in controling the keyboard light, PowerMan let's you set up profiles, for different environments/situations, in which you can adjust Screen brightness, LED, Keyboard, Sounds/Volumes, and a whole lot. And then you can apply these various profiles at different times/days or even override a profile on the fly. Pretty handy and worth a trial IMO.
