This is real strange. Have you been able to use PowerMan to turn off the keyboard completely? I sense is that since it's flickering only(?) when you're using the modem for voice or data then its a wireless connectivity issue.
Yes they have . I have no other choice but to have it unlocked . Way too much time abroad . As far as swapping sims done that last night just to experiment
. It flickers one time when i press send key , or hold "1" to call the voicemail . I don't use it as a modem . And i have not tried powerman . Did not get the chance .

Frozen,

Since you're not using any app to turn off the Keyboard Light, yet, I'm assuming the KB light up when the screen comes on. So the issue is that the KB light goes off and on while the screen is on? Or is the screen off, ie during a call, and the KB lights up for a second and goes off.

Are you "pushing" email while the phone is on? Again I'm thinking that somehow the wireless connection, whether voice or data, is causing the KB to "wake up" and if you're 'pinging' the email server regularly that may cause the KB flicker.

Get the trial PowerMan app and turn off the KB Light in the Normal profile and see if the KB lights up at all. I think I've only got the KB light ON in the Night profile, all the others I've created the KB is set to OFF.

Unhappy

Second phone to do that . This also happens when I browse the web . It's quite annoying . If I cant get this resolved , I will be jumping ship and going to BB 9k . That's if it becomes unlocked.

My 755p doesn't flicker when I'm on a call. What it does is come on and stay on until I press the side key...then it will stay off for about five seconds and come back on. I also have tried using a third party app (PowerHero's plugins) to toggle the keyboard lights off, but they still come back on. Its not that big a deal...just a little annoying.

Morning taz , stu .
Taz ,Stu perhaps you are right . But my biggest issue is that I don't have time to chase the courier for my next treo . I'm leaving for hamburg tonight . Time wise I am short on it . So if it does not resolve itself , by the time the bb 9K comes out . Plus if its unlocked . the treo has got to go . Durring email Kb on kb off every few seconds . Quite annoying, in fact .

Wow, this is totally bizarre. I've never heard of anyone with a 680 have this issue.

Have you got the latest firmware installed? What is it now 1.09, 1.10? I'm on ATT so mine's 1.09-ATT.

Since this an unlocked 680, see if you can find someone with an ATT SIM and swap it out for a call. I'm guessing, if it still flickers then it's the hardware/phone. If not then it's the SIM. If you're going to Hamburg, aren't going get a prepaid SIM there or does your Tmobile SIM work? I'm still convinced it's in the connection circuit/SIM interface module.
