No sound on calls or audio - Treo Forum

I have just returned from the USA to Australia and when I was in the US my new Treo 680 does not provide audio when on a phone call or through the internal speaker when using PTunes. I do get a ring when someone tries to call me but I am unable to hear anything. Prior to going overseas it worked fine. Before leaving I installed TakePhone, Ring care and audio gateway. I purchased the Plantronics Voyager 855 stereo headset while in the US. Can anyone start giving me some ideas as to what I should try to get the audio back. As I said I get a ring when people call me but I and they cannot hear each other, audio through audio gateway and the voyager works but no PTunes through the internal speaker.

I'll assume the 680 works fine, you hear calls/callers hear you, without the headset and Ptunes off.

Starting with Audio Gateway - it's an either/or situation. If you enable the 855 stereo headset, you are disabling the internal speaker, thus the two buttons in the Audio Gateway screen, so PTunes won't output to both.

For the 855 headset to work on a call, it needs to be paired in Bluetooth. So check that you can make/receive calls thru the headset without Ptunes running. If that works, which it should since the headset shows up in Audio Gateway, check that PTunes Background Prefs has Enable Background Play ON. If you can't hear with the headset w/o Ptunes on, then it's probably a setup issue with the headset.

Try these and report back here.

I will try to reset the bluetooth but in answer to first comment when calls come in I cannot hear the caller and tehy cannot hear me.

So if the phone rings but you can't hear anything and your caller can't hear you, then I'm guessing you used a wired headset in the audio jack on the 680. Try inserting a wired headset into the socket and turning it 180-360 degrees, then remove it quickly. The headphone jack has been problematic since the 600. Ptunes should play thru the internal speaker without Audio Gateway enabled.

It may also be RingCare. If Cartogary's suggestion doesn't work, try deleting RingCare and reinstalling it. Also make sure you have the latest version as earlier versions had this problem.
