4 GB Micro SD not Recognized - Treo Forum

I have recently purchased a 4 gb micro SD card. When I try to use it my phone does not recognize it. Every once and a while it will show the card but as soon as I try to access anything on it it looses it. I recently ran the update but the results are the same. I also have a regular 2gb SD card and I have no issues with it. Any help is appreciated.

they are both kingston

The Kingstons seem to have a high failure rate. The plus side is that they carry a lifetime warranty. Just call Kingston, they have excellent customer service. They will either repair or replace the card. Give it about ten days.

the card works, i have used it on my computer. my phone does not recognize it. I thought I saw a post that mentioned that there was an update so the 680 would recognize the 4gb cards.

Ahh, good additional information. Yeah, I think you need the SDHC patch. Not sure how to get it though. Some of the mods know, and I'm sure they'll fix you up.

Thats weird. The SDHC driver patch we use on the 700p/650 is in fact from the 680... anyone else coming across this thread can find it here:

SDHC Slot Driver 0.0 (for Palm OS) - mytreo.net/downloads

But for Rondell you can try formatting the card again for fat32 in a PC.. There's a post on some tests we ran here:

Hope this helps. You don't need the driver, you've already got a 680...

I think that's because the 680 only supports up to three Gb's. That's what happened to my buddy when he put a eight gb card into a centro, the Centro only Recgnized 4 of the eight

Tosh, you're right about the Centro only recognizing up to 4mb on the card, but you can still use all 8 mb.

Make sure you have the recent Palm Treo 680 update. In that update there is a patch for using a 4gig card. If you did update make sure it went through.

Also, you could have a bad card. People seem to think these cards are bullet proof.... There not.
