| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Just a note to let y'all know that beaming worked in Date Book. Rather tedious as I had to beam each item but it worked. I'm having trouble beaming Memo because it all gets sent to DataViz Word-To-Go. I think I found the answer in Palm Support. Here's the letter from DataViz and URL. This is probably happening because of a preference in Docs To Go which tells the Palm OS it is the default program to open beamed files of a certain kind. It should have asked you about those preferences the very first time you opened Docs To Go on the handheld. Unless you unchecked the Text files option, that would have set Docs To Go as the default handler of beamed text files. Many Palm apps will do this sort of thing without asking. Try opening the Memos app, which may get it to automatically set itself as the default app for beamed text files. If that doesn't work, you can reset those preferences. To do so, you will need to download the latest version of the DataViz Tech Tool from this link: http://download.dataviz.com/support/...ataviztech.prc After downloading it, double-click on the dataviztech.prc file to add it to Quick Install (or Install Tool). Make sure to select the correct handheld username in the install tool, then close it before doing a HotSync. After you sync, you should see the DataVizTech app on your handheld. Now follow these steps: 1. Open the DataViz Tech app on your handheld 2. Bring up the menu from the top of the screen, and select "Advanced Options" 3. Tap the button which says "Delete Preferences" (then tap Yes) Once it deletes the preferences, open the Documents app on the handheld. You may need to accept the license agreement again, and then you should get a screen asking about making Docs To Go the default app for various file types. Make sure to UN-check Text files, then tap OK. Now try again to beam a memo to your handheld. By the way, unchecking the file types in the Docs To Go preference screen does not mean that Docs To Go can't open that type of file. You'll still be able to open and use text files in Docs To Go. The difference is that Docs To Go should no longer automatically open text files that are beamed to your handheld |
