Versamail and Gmail problems - Treo Forum

Hey everyone. My replacement treo 680 has been awsome and I am loving it. I have tried to get versamail and my gmail account to work together but I just cant seem to figure it out. I tried a search on here but its late and didn't really see anything that met my problem. Is it possible? what are the settings that I should type in? When I try to test my settings I get this error message:
SSL connections are not supported.
Cannot form a network communication object.

THese are my settings:
incoming: imap.gmail.com
portnumber 995

outgoing: smtp.gmail.com
port 465

I am not sure how to fix this. I am trying to set it up using the desktop program not the on device software. Anyideas? is there a new version of versamail that I should be using? I am using the one tha comes with the palm desktop cd.

I believe that you need the newer version of Versamail, that came with the Centro. Palm OS users, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Is this a windows based system or will it work on my Palm OS? Anyone have the new versamail on their 680?

The new versamail for the Centro is for Sprint users. Maybe you can get the software up to your phone and test it.
