![]() | windows media player Hi Folks, I'm new to this site so bear with me. I have recently acquired a Treo 680. I can't get Windows Media player to identify my Treo as a device to sync music to. Is there some magic I'm missing? The Treo is suing Palm O/s. Is that the problem? Again, I'm new so be gentle. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome to Treonauts, Finman!!!!!!!!!! There are three ways to sync music to your device's SD card (Note if you're trying to download music to your device I would strongly recommend against it as it takes up too much space). The first is to use a music player app's own sync functions (such a Pocket Tunes). Except for the Centro, this can be a slow process and can cause some freezes. Nevertheless, it does work and with Ptunes the sync is automatic unless you tell it otherwise (when PTunes is in use on your device and the sync cable connects both the device and the PC). The second method is to use a software application (either Softick Card Export II or Card Reader) to have your computer read your SD card as a USB device. These two apps are relatively inexpensive and well worth the investment. Through this method, Windows Media Player should recognize your device. The final method, is to actually use a hardware card reader and download music that way to your SD card. You have to be careful with both the last two methods that you ensure that the music is downloaded to the proper folder (entitled Audio or Music). If you still have problems after this explanation, please post the following: What music app are you using on your phone? What method of syncing music are you attempting? What version of Windows Media Player are you using? These should help to further troubleshoot. Stu |
