| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Calendar and Contacts not Syncing I recently installed the latest 2.12 update for unlocked phones and everything went OK except (and this may be coincidental) that now HotSync (on both my home and work PCs) shows both Calendar and Contacts conduits set to 'Do Nothing'. If I try and set them to Synchronize (set as default) HotSync crashes (on both PCs). If I try to just do a 'one off' sync and set both to synchronize (without checking set as default) my Treo 680 still won't sync either contacts or calendar and when I check the HotSync settings both Calendar and Contacts are again set to 'Do Nothing' Has anybody else experienced this Any help or guidance would be really appreciated BTW - I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Palm desktop and HotSync but the same issues persist ![]() |

![]() ![]() | Are you using Outlook or Palm Desktop to sync your Calendar and Contacts? And are you using the same HotSync ID on both PCs, home & Office?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is a new one for me...very perplexing. Have you looked at the Palm Support site? They have a number of articles on Syncing problems. Another possibility is using the chat support function at Palm, although its too late tonight I think to do that. Unless, of course, someone much brighter then I comes along and gives you a good solution. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Try using a program like backup program (NVBackup is free) and back your phone up onto an SD card. This will allow you to safely perform a hard reset. Once you've done that, you can see if your still having hotsync issues on the computers. If your not, use NVBackup to restore, then try syncing again and see what happens. Let us know.

![]() ![]() | Try this before any resets, set both to Desktop Overrides Handheld and see you can Sync without errors messages or crashes. If that works, then set both to Sync and HotSync again. It really sounds like a Palm Desktop corruption. The other thing is Palm put out a procedure/document about using two PC with the same HotSync ID, recommending that one PC setup to Sync and the other setup to Handheld Override Desktop. So I'm wondering with there's some Time Stamp issue on the HotSync Log that freaks the Desktop apps.

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Thanks guys. I've just installed BackupMan so I've got everything covered on that side and I'll give uninstalling (plus registry deletes as well) and see how I go. I'm beginning to think it may be a software (XP) issue, but who knows. I'll post back when I have more to report |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | OK, problem sorted. After a bit of digging on the net, it seems my problem was after updrading to firmware 2.12 I set up a new email (Versamail) account. There is a known problem with this in that it sets Contacts and Calendar to 'Do Nothing' as a default A quick deletion of the account(s), setting up a new one with .pop as the service, reinstall Palm Desktop (with HotSync) and all is back to normal![]() |

In my opinion, short of a device malfunction, most problems we have on our phones can be solved and are usually attributable to some third party application(s) or corruption issue. |

![]() | Treo 680 will not sync address or calendar Since installing product update 1.12, My Treo 680, unlocked, will not sync addresses or calendar. I just spent 5 hours with Palm Support and I'm now waiting for a level 2 tech to call me. I do not have any Versamail accounts that would be interfearing. I did a complete restore of my computer to factory conditions, installed Palm Desktop and manually inputed all my contacts. I then did a Hard Reset and a Hotsync. My addreses were synced to the Treo. However, adding new contacts to the Desktop or the Treo results in nothing being synced. Trying to Sync to my notebook resulted in no addresses being synced to the Desktop. I'm open to any suggestions. |
