1GB sandisk card not showing anymore? - Treo Forum

I noticed my sd card not showing anymore on my palm and know that I noticed it after zlauncher got onto my phone. now if I use card export and press connect and then disconect without having it plugged it. it shows up but on the next reset its goes away. what could be the problem. before zl I used propel which is still on my phone disabled.

Download a trial of SafeGuard...first it has a "keep card mounted" feature. Second, it allows you to quarantine apps to see what happens. After you install it, and to the requisite soft reset, I would make sure the "Keep card mounted" box is unchecked first, and then try quarantining Zlauncher. Then see if your card has any issues. If not, then check the box, and the restore ZLauncher and see what happens. You may have to delete Zlauncher and then re-download it. ZLauncher is a mega program and as such has some stability issues. People are drawn to its strong customizing abilities and skins for their phones, but the truth is that it has some real drawbacks. Its also kinda like AOL and has a tendency to permeate other programs, such that if you delete ZLauncher outright then you lose some functionality in other programs (unless you follow the prescribed delete directions). Just my opinion though, I'm sure others would disagree.

I downloaded the trial and it worked . but why?. why do I need to mount and why won't it work without the program. that means I gotta buy it to keep my card showing

Stuart is right on with his perspective on ZLauncher. Let's just say it has issues. I wouldn't install it unless I had an Uninstall app to purge it.

In fact Northglide's UnInstall does just that very well, so if some new app does behave well with the existing resident apps, it gets evicted real quick on my 680.

Just my opinion, but I think SafeGuard is worth every penny for a variety of reasons. But, you can always get rid of ZLauncher and you won't need SafeGuard to keep your card mounted. There is a freeware app called Card Keeper 1.3.1, I think, that also will keep your card mounted if you want. If you're just looking for a customizable launcher for skins, you might want to look at Treo Launcher. Personally, I think the best launcher is Initiate Pro.

Card Keeper won't keep the card mounted. It will only tell you if it pops out of your phone. I also had disappearing SD issues until I got rid of ZLauncher. Now I am looking for a new launcher.

You probably had an earlier version of Card Keeper (NOTE: there are still two versions of Card Keeper available). The version I qouted does help to keep the card mounted. Its not fool proof however.
