Re-Install ROM update - Treo Forum

My 680 is well past sick (read details here, essentially it will not allow any SIMS)

One thought was to reload the latest ROM (2.11-ATT) but when I use the installer it stops and says it's already loaded. Then it will not go any further and any key resets the device and take is out of the installer.

Does anyone have any idea on how to force the ROM on to the thing?

Side thought - is it possible to go back to an older ROM?

Once the ROM is there, its there. The only way I know of is to do a custom ROM, but I personally wouldn't do it, as I've heard too many war stories of people who bricked their phone in the process. Still, you might look around in all the forums to see if anyone has successfully done a custom ROM of their 680.

There's no way to roll back to an older ROM, and if its see's it has a newer one the older one won't install. There are some stable Custom 680 ROM's floating around, but I haven't personally used any. IF you do choose that path, read everything you can find on that particular version of the ROM.
