anythird party programs recently installed? If so what Is it currently updated to the latest updates? do you have backup software and if so a good backup You may need to do a hard reset but before you do that lets try other avenues. Get back with us with answers to the above questions. Hang in there.

Have you been able to do a hard reset at the least? Plug you 680 into the charger. Then do a soft reset. See if that resets your charge indicator and gets you out of the loop. If not a hard reset may be your only option here.

47619 will become famous soon enough
Try the battery thing for the phones to reset the charge meter

I think it was take out the battery plug in the charger and 1 minute later put the battery back in

If that doesn't work take out the battery for 6 and a half hours

Sorry for your problem. It sounds like some kind of software glitch. I would suggest going to the Palm.com site and search for System Reset (also known as Warm Reset). The link I use is Resetting your device (Soft, System/Warm, Hard, In-Cradle, Power Down, Battery Disconnect, Zero Out)

It has pictures with the instructions to help you (you mentioned you were a new user). Just remember to perform the usual "battery out" reset afterwards, which is necessary after a system reset.

Good luck!

As per the link posted by Maris, did you or where you able to performa hard reset? That maybe your only option at this point.
