![]() | Receiving calls issue Hi, I have a strange problem. Originally it started out with randomly not being able to pickup calls. When I pressed the center key at an incoming call, half of times the Treo would just freeze up for 2 minutes; and the call was not answered. So I hard resetted my Treo and reinstalled the bear minimumof software and hotsynced to get my only contacts and calendar back. I then decided to install the camera patch again. After reading a lot of post from earlier this year on several forums, I started using the green button instead of the center key to answer incoming calls. That seems to work quite well. I cannot recall having a random hangup at incoming calls since. Some forum postings put the blame of the problem on faulty SIM cards, can that be?? Recently however people complain to me, that they tried to call me and couldn't get a connection. They didn't even get my voice mail either(which is active). My Treo itself claimed not to have received or missed any calls. So I made sure my phone was set very loud and dragged everywhere I went (although this should not matter seen the nature of the problem; "There were no calls"). I still get these claims that people couldn't reach me. I can dial out, call people and receive incoming calls without any problems, but seem to miss certain call attemps entirely. What can it be? I have talked to my provider, which is the Dutch "Debitel", but they claim that they can see that some calls did not get through, but can't see why. They suspected my phone is the issue. This is why I also included the entire story in beginning of this thread, as it could be related. Another important fact is that the voice mail wasn't reached either, which means, that it is not a simple "no coverage" issue or a bad reception. How can I test this properly? Is there some kind of firmware update that I install to solve it? My Treo is a non-provider branded, not locked 680. It has the following hardware info: MW01.50 Treo680-1.04-ROW Carrier DB:355 Hardware A Thanks in advance for your help, Best regards, Jos |

![]() | Hi, with a different phone, appearantly it still seems to some people that my number is not even in service... [message: "No connection under this number"]. So that rules out the Treo. The network seems to have some serious issues... Another important fact, maybe more a -shame-shame- kind of moment : I have been pressing the "Phone" application button on many occasions to pickup the call! You are in the middle of your day, busy, lot's of meetings etc. and all of the sudden your phone rings. Instead of the green button, I pressed the button below (which are both covered by the silikon skin I picked up from Brandos site). I reproduced that situation today and the Treo has a small hold up and then disconnects(!). Hm... Rgds, Jos |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Jos, I am no expert, but if they can't reach your voicmail, that sounds like a network issue. On the other side of your issue, if you press the phone icon instead of green button, you will get a hang up. I have had it happen to me. Do you get good recepton everwhere you use your phone? |

![]() | Hi, I have checked reception regularly. This was the problem in my living room. I tried another provider there and that solves the coverage issue in that specific situation. You say it is more likely the network, which makes perfect sense. It made me puzzle too, where does the SIM come into this story? Regards, Jos |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There were issues for a while when the 680 first came out in the US that the SIM would need to be replaced because it was causing issues. I'd see if you could get a replacement SIM, and see if that fixes the issue. |

![]() | Hi, I have received a replacement SIM. It is a more modern version. In the SIM Srvs application it still creates an error, which could also mean that, the provider does not support (i.e. have) a SIM menu. So far, so good. I have not yet received any compaints. I'll give an update in a couple of days. Regards, Jos |
