How to get text message delivery confirmation with Treo 680?

It has been half a year already and I did not found how to recognize if my text message was delivered. My Treo 680, even with updated software Treo680-1.09-ATT is not showing this. In Preferences, Message folder offers:
New message:
Text only / Text and Media
MMS Receipts: When delivered / When read / Both / Never
Validity Period: 6 hrs / 24 hrs / 3 days / 1 week / maximum

Confirm message deletions
Private mode (hide text)

But no way to adjust SMS Receipts...

I would be extremely happy for any help or advise.

If it's not on the same screen as MMS Receipts, then your carrier has blocked it out. Sorry, you're SOL.

Hm.. Thanks... I am beaten on this - I am using unlocked phone with carrier who has not even idea what Palm is, but with AT+T (before it was Cingular) software... Which I dont need actually... Any chance to place there some another - such a Palm software? I am using it in Telefonica O2 carrier network in Czech Republic. Thanks

I was very frustrated when I first switched to my first smartphone as I had become very used to this critical feature (and still no not understand why Palm hasn't updated its software to include it). What I found, after experimenting with various suggestions, was that if I enter *noti# before my text message, I will get a delivery receipt. I have now entered this into my my quick text, so whenever I send a text message that I need to have a delivery receipt for, I use this *noti#
Important note: if you enter it after the text of your message, it doesn't work, it has to be in the beginning of the message. Same for forwarded messages- it only works if it's in the beginning of the text message.

Thanks for advise! It did not work for me (O2 provider in Czech Republic), but based on this idea I called O2 and they have recommended me YYYY before message and it works.

And by the way maybe absence of reports is intentional, as usually you communicate by chat option with sms receiver. This chat would be allways interrupted by report if adjusted as default. Like that by placing report code to the message you can chooseinstantly when report is good for you. But it is a big dissapointment that Palm is keeping this know-how for themselves and customers have to investigate like Sherlok Holmes...

I am surprised to see that there is no provisional for getting delivery confirmation in my Treo 680. Can anybody advise what to do, to get confirmation message,when I send an SMS.

This is not working with me. I am using Etisalat as my service provider (Dubai).

Easy. call to your operator, let connect with some specialist and they will tell you. I was surprised, it works. In czech republic, I explained O2 operator that I need to know what to insert in front of sms to get receipt without adjusting anything on the phone and they have told me YYYY and it works. Even better when if I would adjust for ever because while chating, you do not want receipt always. I just adjusetd YYYY as a signature and when I want receipt I am placing YYYY in front of the message and if I dont want I am deleting that. But different provider will be different (probably four digit) code to be placed there. You have to investigate.
