Treo 680 Dial Up internet connection

Is it possible to use an unlocked treo 680 to make a phone call and connect to an ISP in order to navigate on the internet ?

I have a treo 680 and will like to call a local internet dial up to connect to surf the internet, download my mail and so on using the Blazer web program that comes with the treo.

Can this be done ? Do I need a special software to do this ?
How can I configure the treo to do so ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately not, the modem in your phone is only designed to connect to cellular services and not PSTN.

Any reason why you can't use your carriers data services?

The idea behind this was to use a local free access ISP provider and avoid paying the high charges of my carriers data services plans.

Thanks for your guidance, at least now I can stop wasteing my time trying to make work something that is impossible to do.
