| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Treo 680 freezes on incoming call/ring I have the same problem with the guy who wrote this post on Palm forum: "I've been observing the conditions when this occurs with my phone. For me, it usually happens when the treo has been left in standby mode for a few hours, like overnight, then the first call it receives in the morning will be a freeze. Calls after this initial call will go through normally, but if the phone is left again for a period of time without usage, either phone mode or PDA usage, it will freeze up again on an incoming call." Nobody came up with solution on that forum. Was this issue ever discussed in this forum? Is this a firmware issue or a software conflict issue? FYI, I already updated the firmware and I have the following apps installed: - Uninstaller Manager - AvantGo - Converter - DocsToGo - Filez - MiniTones - mobileClock - a bunch of games on SD card |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I did search, nothing came up that's identical to my situation. My treo doesn't just freeze randomly. Please read my first post. The "freeze" really just happens during the first incoming call, and after that it works normally. If you know a thread that discussed the same problem/situation, let me know. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Yea, saw that thread, but like I said, my treo would only freeze once, and only after a long period of inactivity. And it also doesn't crash, meaning I never have to reset it after the freeze. I also saw another thread in which someone recommends replacing the SIM and/or SD card. I don't think that's the problem in my situation, but I might give it a try if everything else fails. I'm suspecting some of the apps I installed might be the culprit and I'm in the process of investigating. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I assume that it worked fine when you first got it, i.e. before you installed any third party apps?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The only sure fire way of finding the culprit, if it is indeed a third party app causing the problem, is to do a hard reset then reinstall each app with a few days testing time inbetween each one.

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | OK, I followed your advice and did a hard reset. Took the SD card out and didn't install any software at all. Worked great for 2-3 days. No crashes no freezes, I didn't even do a single soft reset. But today it hesitated when I tried to dial out (it didn't do anything for 5-7 sec after I hit the green button) but finally made the call, and it froze on the next incoming phone call. So I guess it must be the phone/OS. Maybe I'll try doing a soft reset everyday? Do you think that will help? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It might do but it shouldn't be necessary ![]()
