New Battery

This is more of an FYI then anything. Last week my battery started draining really fast. The day before they were updating the EDGE network in my area. The next day the battery on my Treo was draining really fast. After a few hours of being of the charger with very limited use the battery would be around 60%. I called AT&T. They told me someone else to call...this happened several times. Finally I got a hold of a really nice lady who told me to take the phone to an AT&T store and exchange the battery. I did the next day. Let me tell you. The new batteries are great compared the the battery that came with my phone. I can go several days with internet use, phone use and my emails being checked every few hours. If you are having any problems with your battery not being satisfactory for you then I recommend taking it back and exchanging it for a new battery. They seem to be a lot better.

I don't know but it sure works a lot better. Currently working on 5 hours off the charger and the battery life is still at %95. Even when I unplug from the charger it says %99 intead of the normal %94.

My first post!

Would you mind posting a picture of the battery, or maybe a model number or something? I bought my 680 used, so I would need to purchace a new battery..

Great idea, I'm interested to know if there is any difference in the markings on the batteries. Bgattis, did you get yours replaced via an insurance thing, or did they just offer it right up when you asked?

Go to your local AT&T Store and see if they will replace it. Tell them that you called tech support and they told you to bring the phone in for a battery replacement.

It is the exact same battery as before.
Type: 157-10051-00
Rating: 3.7V 1200 mAh (min)

It is the same type battery. See the specs in the post above.
Actually I called AT&T first. They kept giving me different numbers to call. Finally the last number there was a recording that said to 1st try and take it to a AT&T store to have it replaced. After being on hold for about 10 minutes I finally hung up and started calling different stores. Finally found a store that had the 680 batteries. Took the phone in there and told them that I had called tech support and they told me to bring the phone in for a battery exchange. They pulled up my account and then handed me a new battery.

This thing is still working great after a couple of weeks of use.
