what do i need to do GPS navigation?

I'm curious of what I actually need to do GPS navigation with my treo 680. I found this; Palm GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition 2 (TomTom 6) - Palm Accessories

which has everything together to use it in your car, the price is a little on the steep side though.

I've found some GPS receivers in the 50$ and lower range at various other places, I can't seem to find where you buy the tomtom software though. or a price for it or anything.

Also some posts report that tomtom6 does not work on a treo680 but these posts are pretty old and it looks like according to google search results that tomtom6 does work on the treo680,is this correct?

edit: btw I'm not necessarily looking to buy the tomtom software, just GPS voice navigation software and a GPS receiver, it seems the only one out there for the treo 680 is tomtom though.

TomTom is sold with maps so it depends on what region(s) you want as to how much it costs.

The original Palm GPS package didn't work on the 680, the new one and the standalone software both work fine.

Having tried most of the other GPS programs I would say TomTom is the best

I assume you're in the US in which case there is only one option which covers the whole of the US and Canada as shown here

I'm thinking about getting this:
EMTAC Navigator V3 with Seidio G2350S Powered Mount with Integrated GPS (SiRF III) for Treo 680/700p

It has the GPS receiver and the carmount in one gismo so I will have less toys floating around in my car.

It has EMTAC and TomTom packages which I still can't decide which I should go with..

It's listed on Palm's UK site but not their US one so it may be a Europe only offer Have you asked AT&T about it?
