Beaming games - Treo Forum

Why cant I beam games from one 680 to another. My friend did it for me but I just cant seem to do it I know I turn on my blue tooth and then go beam game but it wont let me do it for some reason, am I just not doing the steps correctly.

Are you trying to "beam" it using your IR port, right? Then you need to make sure that your beam is on. You can check on preferences then select power to see if it is on.

Some apps cannot be beamed if they are locked.

some games say i have a 10 day trial period but my cousin paid for the games why wont it just give me the final version. is there a way around this?

I don't know much about unlocking and beaming. But have you tried using filez. Its an application that allows to to view all your files on your phone. There may be a selection for unlocking games. I know there is an application that unlocks locked apps, but I can't think of it right now.

I am at work and don't get off for another 2.5 hours. When I get home I will be able to tab browse and help you search for that application.

So does your cousin have them installed on his Treo?

Most registered games or software titles are tied to the hotsync name. Once the program is beamed to a new Treo with a different hotsync, the registration is no longer valid.

Like Khris said, the registration is no longer valid once they're on your phone. The trial versions are just that, trial versions. If you want the full version like your cousin has (or to keep playing beyond the trial period) you'll need to pay for the software.

It was on her sd card so i just loaded it up on to her comp and then transfered it on to my sd card. alot faster and easeir.

It *should* only be a full version when installed under the hotsync name it was registered to. As soon as you beam/copy/bluetooth it to another device, it will revert to a Trial piece of software since the hotsync name has changed.

Same idea if you purchase a piece of software using the hotsync name of "Chris". If I do a hard reset and then change my hotsync name to "Khris", my registered game/software will no longer be registered.
